Itinerary

Arrive in the vibrant capital of India where our representative greets you at the airport and escorts you to your hotel. Delhi welcomes you with a blend of Mughal and modern architecture — tree-lined avenues, historic monuments, and bustling markets. Spend your afternoon at leisure recuperating from your flight or take an evening drive past India Gate, Parliament House, and the colonial boulevards of Connaught Place.

As night falls, sample Delhi’s culinary delights — from butter chicken to street chaat — or enjoy a quiet dinner in your hotel’s garden restaurant. Delhi sets the tone for the royal journey ahead with its fusion of heritage and energy. Overnight stay in Delhi.

After breakfast, begin a full-day guided tour of Old and New Delhi. Start with the majestic Jama Masjid, India’s largest mosque, then board a rickshaw to ride through the narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk, lined with spice shops and vintage jewelers. Pause at Raj Ghat, Gandhi’s memorial, to sense the quiet contrast of simplicity amid the chaos.

In the afternoon, explore Delhi’s imperial and modern side — visit Humayun’s Tomb, the inspiration for the Taj Mahal, and the soaring Qutub Minar. Drive past the President’s House and the diplomatic avenue of Lutyens Delhi. Return to your hotel for a comfortable evening with traditional Indian dinner. Overnight stay in Delhi.

Post breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Jaipur, the Pink City, where royalty meets color. Pass through rural villages and open fields before arriving at your heritage hotel. After check-in, relax in the courtyard or by the pool before venturing out in the evening.

Drive past illuminated palaces and stop at Albert Hall Museum for a photo opportunity. Later, explore Bapu Bazaar and Johari Bazaar, bursting with block-printed fabrics and semi-precious stones. Dinner with folk music and puppet show completes your first Rajasthani evening. Overnight stay in Jaipur.

After breakfast, begin your exploration of Jaipur with a visit to Amber Fort, a 16th-century hill fort set against rugged Aravalli hills. Ride by jeep up to the gates and explore the Sheesh Mahal (mirror palace), Ganesh Pol, and royal courtyards that echo Rajput valor.

Descend to the city to visit City Palace, a lavish blend of Mughal and Rajput design, followed by Jantar Mantar, the observatory that still reads celestial positions accurately. Stop by the iconic Hawa Mahal for photographs and spend your evening shopping for jewelry and handicrafts. Overnight stay in Jaipur.

After breakfast, depart for Alsisar, situated in the Shekhawati region, often called “the Open-Air Art Gallery of Rajasthan.” On arrival, check into your beautifully restored Alsisar Mahal, a 19th-century fort palace. Relax in its courtyards and admire traditional Rajasthani architecture.

In the afternoon, stroll through nearby villages to see centuries-old painted havelis with mythological murals and carved doors. Meet local artisans who still practice block printing and fresco painting. Evening at leisure under the desert sky. Overnight stay in Alsisar.

After breakfast, drive toward Khimsar, a quiet village on the edge of the Thar Desert. En route, pass rustic landscapes and camel caravans. On arrival, check into Khimsar Fort, a 16th-century castle that combines royal grandeur with rustic charm.

Spend the evening on a village jeep safari through sand dunes and watch the sunset spill gold over the horizon. Interact with local tribes and learn about their nomadic culture. Dinner with folk music under the stars enhances the desert ambience. Overnight stay in Khimsar.

After a hearty breakfast, head for Jaisalmer, the Golden City crowned by a living fort. The drive takes you through vast arid plains, tiny hamlets, and ancient step-wells. Arrive and check into your heritage haveli or hotel with views of the fort.

Spend the evening walking around Gadisar Lake, where stone chhatris reflect in the water at sunset. Visit the bustling bazaar filled with embroidered textiles and silver trinkets before returning to your hotel. Overnight stay in Jaisalmer.

After breakfast, begin your tour of Jaisalmer Fort, a golden citadel that still houses temples, shops and homes within its walls. Explore Patwon-ki-Haveli, Salim Singh-ki-Haveli, and Nathmal-ki-Haveli, each a masterpiece of intricate carving and Rajput elegance.

By late afternoon, proceed to Sam Sand Dunes. Ride on camelback across rolling dunes as the sun descends and the sky turns crimson. After sunset, enjoy folk music, Kalbeliya dance, and a traditional dinner at your luxury desert camp. Sleep beneath a canopy of stars in the Thar. Overnight stay in Jaisalmer.

After breakfast, drive to Jodhpur, the Blue City of Rajasthan. Check into your heritage hotel upon arrival. Begin your tour with the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort, whose massive walls rise dramatically from the cliffs. Explore its museum housing weapons, paintings, and palanquins of Marwar rulers.

Later, visit Jaswant Thada, a white-marble memorial built for the royal family, and Umaid Bhawan Palace from outside. Evening free to wander through Sardar Market near the Clock Tower for spices and handicrafts. Overnight stay in Jodhpur.

After breakfast, journey to Jojawar, a peaceful village nestled in the Aravalli hills. Check into a heritage resort that reflects colonial and Rajput design. Spend some time relaxing in the courtyard or gardens.

In the afternoon, explore the countryside on a village train ride or jeep safari through rural Rajasthan. Visit local farms and temples and interact with villagers to witness authentic daily life. Evening at leisure under the starlit sky. Overnight stay in Jojawar.

After breakfast, drive toward Udaipur, the romantic “City of Lakes.” The road winds through small villages and rolling Aravalli hills, offering glimpses of farmers working in mustard fields and colorful turbans flashing against earthy tones. Check into your lakeside heritage hotel on arrival.

Spend your evening beside Lake Pichola, watching palaces float on water as the sun sets behind the hills. Later, stroll through narrow alleys lined with handicraft shops or enjoy a candle-lit dinner overlooking the lake. Overnight stay in Udaipur.

Begin your morning exploring the grand City Palace, a regal complex of courtyards, balconies, and mosaics overlooking Lake Pichola. Continue to Jagdish Temple and the serene Saheliyon-ki-Bari, once designed for royal ladies to relax among fountains and lotus pools.\

In the afternoon, visit local art studios famous for miniature painting and silver jewelry. As evening falls, take a boat ride on Lake Pichola, passing the Lake Palace and Jag Mandir, watching the reflection of marble domes shimmer in the golden water. Overnight stay in Udaipur.

After breakfast, drive to Devgarh, a quiet heritage village surrounded by Aravalli ranges. Check into Devgarh Mahal, a magnificent 17th-century palace converted into a luxury hotel. Its frescoes, courtyards, and secret passageways take you back in time.

Later, explore nearby villages on a jeep safari — visit traditional potters, watch women carry water in brass pots, and see the rhythm of rural life unfold against the landscape. Return by sunset and enjoy folk music performances in the palace courtyard. Overnight stay in Devgarh.

After breakfast, drive to Bundi, one of Rajasthan’s most atmospheric towns, surrounded by hills and encircled by ancient walls. On arrival, check into your heritage stay.

Visit the splendid Taragarh Fort, perched high above the city, followed by the Garh Palace, famous for its faded yet exquisite murals depicting royal life. Walk through narrow blue-washed lanes ending at Raniji ki Baori, a stepwell with carved pillars and arches. Overnight stay in Bundi.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast, then drive to Ranthambore National Park, one of India’s most celebrated wildlife reserves. Check into your jungle lodge nestled amidst natural surroundings.

Spend the evening relaxing or visiting the ancient Ranthambore Fort, standing tall above the forest canopy. Listen to the call of peacocks and deer echoing through the dusk. Overnight stay in Ranthambore.

Rise early for a jeep safari through Ranthambore’s varied landscape of lakes, ruins, and dense forests. Keep your camera ready for sightings of tigers, leopards, sloth bears, and exotic birds. Return to the lodge for breakfast and leisure time by the pool.

After lunch, embark on a second safari covering a new zone of the park. Watch the sunset over Padam Talab where crocodiles bask and egrets skim the surface. Evening at leisure under the starlit sky. Overnight stay in Ranthambore.

After breakfast, drive to the princely town of Karauli, once a stronghold of the Yaduvanshi Rajputs. Check into a charming heritage palace-hotel still owned by the royal family.

Visit Kaila Devi Temple and explore Karauli’s old bazaar lined with carved doorways and terracotta facades. Return to your hotel for an evening of traditional music and storytelling by local artists. Overnight stay in Karauli.

After breakfast, depart for Agra, crossing rural plains and small villages. On arrival, check into your hotel and relax.

Visit Agra Fort, a UNESCO-listed marvel blending red sandstone and white marble, and later head to Mehtab Bagh for a sunset view of the Taj Mahal across the Yamuna River — a moment of pure serenity. Overnight stay in Agra.

Rise before dawn for a sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal, its marble surface bathed in hues of pink and gold — the perfect finale to your Rajasthan adventure. Return for breakfast and depart for Delhi.

Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your onward flight. The Rajasthan Tour With Wildlife ends with memories of palaces, villages, lakes, and the thrilling call of the wild echoing through your heart.

A tour of South India
We are recently back from a fine 10 day tour of South India – Goa, Kochi, the Kerala backwaters, a spice farm in the Western Ghats, the Madurai temples, and last but not least the Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai. All done with class, excellent drivers (especially Mr. Jai Ram in Kerala) and tour guides. Organized by Magan Singh, Heritage India Private Tours. Perhaps a bit pricey but highly recommended for those who have the resources to invest in a guaranteed high quality experience with no inconveniences/surprises. The hotels were fantastic, especially the Taj in Mumbai (the tour of the hotel was fascinating).  ...Read More

Sit back & enjoy- everything is well organised
We are back from another amazing tour organised by the ever reliable Magan Singh. This was our 4th trip with Magan and again he didn't disappoint. This time we had an incredible time travelling north & spending time around Leh. We also enjoyed some travel through Bahu, Dalhousie, Alsisar, Khandela and Patan. Again the hotel stays were excellent, the vehicle was reliable, comfortable and well maintained. Our conversations & learning were excellent. Nothing is too much trouble for Magan and he is a great host & promoter of Indian tourism  ...Read More

Wonderful experience, thank you Heritage India Private Tours!
We have just completed a 19 day trip - Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Pushkar, Udaipur, Narlai, Jodhpur, Mandawa - and it has been a wonderful experience. Magan was excellent helping us plan the right itinerary for a family of 3, including our 12 year old daughter. His communication was always timely. And then the experience itself has been wonderful. So much of the “real India” to learn about and was shared with us. Each destination was well organised, our hotels were beautiful and staff welcoming. Magan was flexible where we needed to alter along the way - we would discuss each days plans and he helped us find the right plans for that day. He was always available if we needed him. We will definitely be returning for another itinerary and experience as soon as we can. Thank you so much Magan!  ...Read More

Magic Magan
This was my first tour with Maganbhai but my family’s second tour with his company. We spent two weeks touring Himachal Pradesh and Maganbhai is a consummate professional. As we started our planning, kicked into action with very detailed and family specific questions so that he could tailor the tour to our individual and collective requirements. Maganbhai made some excellent and knowledgeable recommendations and at every location we were given a choice of quality heritage hotels to pick from. As we were travelling as a group, we were given a top range minibus and our driver, Sahil, was very professional and took great care, especially on mountain roads. During our carefully planned tour Maganbhai shared with us his incredible knowledge of each location and historical significance. At each destination, our hotel / guest in check in was very smooth and quick and our rooms were always ready. Throughout each day, Maganbhai was always available for any requirement we had and also to answer all questions. His priority throughout was to ensure that everyone had a fantastic time. Even after we finished our tour but remained in country Maganbhai generously offered to be available for all family members for any issues we might have. PHT is a top end tour company led by a highly professional tour operator, offering value for money. I wholeheartedly recommend using PHT for Maganbhai to fully cater for your next trip to India.  ...Read More

Fantastic short trip in North India with group of friends
We had an amazing trip with Heritage India Private Tours, headed by Maghan! We were a group of 8 friends from Belgium going to Rishikesh for the wedding of a mutual friend. We only had 7 days to travel North India before the wedding festivities and Heritage Tours made sure that we could complete our busy itinerary carefree. Our driver Satnayaran was an excellent driver and a funny and helpful guide on our trip. He helped us with restaurant recommendations (the food court in Jaipur!!!), tips to travel safely and to buy local gifts, certainly in his hometown of Jaipur. We visited Jodpur, Pushkar (thank you to our local guide Manoj), Jaipur (with Rajesh Parasar as an excellent guide for the fort and old city center), and the Taj Mahal in Agra with Mohammed Tariq who took the besttttt instagram pictures. Finally, Maghan was available at every hour of the day to answer questions and to give us tips to navigate India.  ...Read More
