Jaipur – Jodhpur – Udaipur
Palaces were built in Rajasthan for kings and queens, and for one week they become yours. Our Rajasthan honeymoon luxury tour takes newly married couples through three royal cities, staying in heritage palace hotels where suites open onto courtyards, lakes or fort views. Each day is paced for two people who want time together as much as time sightseeing, with late breakfasts, private guides and long evenings left for candlelit dinners. A private car and driver carries you between cities in comfort, and the chauffeur handles every detail from luggage to restaurant bookings. Romantic touches are woven in quietly: a flower-decorated bed on arrival, a couple's spa session, a sunset boat ride and a private dinner on a rooftop facing a lit fort.
Jaipur opens the honeymoon with two nights of pink sandstone, rooftop cocktails and a hot air balloon option over Amber. Jodhpur follows, where the blue city sits beneath Mehrangarh and an evening in the desert brings a private dune dinner with folk musicians. The final three nights are spent in Udaipur, the city of lakes, often called the most romantic city in India, where you can drift on Lake Pichola at dusk, take a cooking class for two or simply stay in your suite with a view of the water. Between cities, the drives are broken with stops at Ranakpur and the green Aravalli hills. Every itinerary can be adjusted for your interests, and our Jaipur office is on call throughout. This is a luxury honeymoon in Rajasthan for couples who want palaces, privacy and romance, all at a relaxed rhythm.

Your honeymoon begins the moment you step into Jaipur's arrival hall. Your chauffeur greets you with marigold garlands and drives you, in a spotless luxury car, to your heritage palace hotel, about thirty minutes away. At the hotel, the staff welcome you with a traditional tilak, rose petals and a cool drink, and our team has already requested a flower-decorated bed and a small honeymoon cake in your suite. Check-in is quick and private. Spend the afternoon resting, enjoying the pool or simply wandering the hotel gardens with their old fountains and painted pavilions. A late lunch can be served on your private balcony.
As the sun drops, your chauffeur drives you up to a rooftop lounge facing Nahargarh Fort, where the city's walls and domes turn coral pink. Order a drink and watch the lights come on below as Jaipur settles into evening. Later, dinner is arranged at a palace restaurant in the city, perhaps with a starter of murgh malai tikka followed by a slow-cooked laal maas or a vegetarian Rajasthani thali. Your local guide will contact you tonight to confirm the time for tomorrow, including the early start if you choose the hot air balloon. Balloon flights run from roughly October to March and depend on wind, so a backup morning option is always ready.

For couples who choose it, the day starts with a sunrise hot air balloon flight over the villages and fields near Amber, floating gently above the hills and lakes as the sun rises. After landing and breakfast, your private guide takes you into Amber Fort, entering through Suraj Pol. Inside, the Sheesh Mahal is the highlight, a hall where thousands of tiny mirrors were set into the walls and ceiling so that a single candle could light the entire room like a starry sky. Your guide shares the stories of Raja Man Singh and the palace's zenana quarters, where royal women kept apart from the court. Stop at Jal Mahal on the way back for photographs.
In the afternoon, visit the City Palace and the Jantar Mantar observatory, then take a stroll through Johari Bazaar, where you might find a pair of silver anklets or a hand-painted lac bangle set as a keepsake. Before sunset, a photographer meets you at Patrika Gate on Jawahar Circle, a painted archway with nine colourful corridors that makes a wonderful backdrop for honeymoon portraits. In the evening, enjoy dinner at a heritage restaurant inside an old haveli, followed by a slow drive past the illuminated Hawa Mahal, its 953 small windows glowing softly against the dark street. Order a kulfi from a street-side cart for a sweet end to the night.

After a relaxed breakfast, your chauffeur drives you west towards Jodhpur, through the farmland and small villages of central Rajasthan. The road is well surfaced, and comfortable rest stops are arranged along the way at good highway restaurants. A brief stop in Ajmer lets you see the Ana Sagar lake with its marble pavilions from the road, and your chauffeur can share the history of the Sufi shrine of Ajmer Sharif. Lunch can be at a heritage hotel near the halfway point, where the menus include local favourites like gatte ki sabzi and ker sangri. The breeze through the courtyard is a pleasant break from the road.
You reach Jodhpur in the late afternoon and check in to a palace hotel, many of which sit in old royal residences with views of the fort above. After freshening up, enjoy an evening drink on the terrace as Mehrangarh glows golden against the sky. Dinner tonight is at a rooftop restaurant facing the fort, where the city's blue houses slowly darken below. Couples often say this first view of Jodhpur by night is one of their favourite moments of the honeymoon. Rest well, and ask the hotel to send a pot of saffron tea to your suite, as tomorrow brings the fort and an evening in the desert.

Your private guide meets you after breakfast for a visit to Mehrangarh Fort, rising four hundred feet above the city on a rocky ridge. Enter through Jai Pol and walk up past the cannonball marks on the walls to the inner palaces. The museum galleries display royal palanquins, elephant howdahs, turbans and miniature paintings, and the rooms of Phool Mahal and Sheesh Mahal are decorated with gold, mirrors and stained glass. From the ramparts, the view over the blue-washed houses of the old city is extraordinary. Next, visit Jaswant Thada, a white marble memorial set among small gardens and a quiet lake.
After lunch and a rest in your suite, your chauffeur drives you out of the city towards Osian, about 65 km and roughly ninety minutes away. Here, on the edge of the Thar desert, a camel ride takes you into the dunes as the sun sets. A private table is set on the sand for two, lit with lanterns and candles, while a pair of Manganiyar musicians plays desert love songs nearby. Dinner is a set Rajasthani menu prepared by the camp chef. After dinner, look up at the sky, filled with stars far from city lights, before the drive back to Jodhpur.

Leave Jodhpur after breakfast, heading south through the gentle Aravalli hills. The highlight of the drive is Ranakpur, home to the fifteenth-century Chaumukha Jain Temple, a forest of pale marble columns where no two carvings repeat. The temple opens to non-Jain visitors from noon, so your chauffeur times the drive accordingly. Inside, your guide points out the delicate carvings and the light that falls through openings in the domes. Lunch is at a quiet resort set among mango trees, where you can sit in the garden before continuing the journey. Keep an eye out for langur monkeys in the treetops, and ask your chauffeur about Kumbhalgarh, whose great wall lies just a short distance north of here.
The road winds through green hills, small streams and villages before reaching Udaipur in the evening. You check in to a lake-facing palace hotel for three nights, your longest stay of the honeymoon. Many of the suites here have balconies looking out onto Lake Pichola, and your room will be decorated with flowers and candles to welcome you. Tonight is meant for relaxing: enjoy a private dinner served on your balcony or in the hotel's lakeside restaurant, with the palace walls glowing across the water. A bottle of chilled sparkling wine is waiting in your room.

Once you have lingered over breakfast, your guide leads you through the City Palace, the largest palace complex in Rajasthan, built by the Maharanas of Mewar over four hundred years. Walk through the Peacock Courtyard, the hanging garden of Badi Mahal and the Zenana Mahal, where the royal women once lived. Then step into the Crystal Gallery, a remarkable collection of glass furniture ordered by Maharana Sajjan Singh from England. Later, visit Jagdish Temple, where brass bells ring for Lord Vishnu from early morning, and browse the small art shops in the lanes nearby for a miniature painting to take home, ideally a pair of lovers in the Mewar style.
In the late afternoon, a private boat waits at the jetty for a romantic ride on Lake Pichola. Pass the floating Taj Lake Palace and the city's waterside mansions, then stop at Jag Mandir, an island palace with gardens and marble elephants, where you can walk hand in hand as the sky changes colour. As the sun sets behind the hills, the city palaces glow amber and gold. Back on shore, dinner is arranged at a candlelit lakeside terrace, a moment many couples call the high point of their trip. Ask the server for the house mocktail of rose and lime.

The morning begins with a couple's Ayurvedic spa session at your hotel, a relaxing hour of warm oils and traditional massage techniques designed to ease travel tiredness. Afterwards, enjoy a slow lunch by the pool or on your balcony. Later, a short drive brings you to a family home in the old city for a cooking class for two. The host teaches you to make paneer butter masala, a fragrant pulao and fresh naan, and shares stories about family life and local festivals. You eat the dishes you cooked together, often the most memorable meal of the honeymoon. Recipes are written down for you to try at home.
Before sunset, ride up to the hilltop Monsoon Palace, about 5 km west of the city. From the terrace, watch the sun set over the lakes, hills and the white palaces of Udaipur below. The breeze up here is cool and the views are wide in every direction. Return to the city for a farewell dinner at a rooftop restaurant on Lal Ghat or Gangaur Ghat, with soft music and a view of the lit City Palace. Toast to your new life together and take a last walk along the water before returning to the hotel.

Enjoy a slow final breakfast on your terrace, taking in one more view of Lake Pichola in the morning light. There is time to pack at leisure, perhaps after a last walk through the hotel gardens or a quiet moment by the pool. If your flight leaves later in the day, your chauffeur can take you for a short visit to Saheliyon ki Bari, where four rain fountains splash around a pool for royal ladies. It is a peaceful and fitting place to say goodbye to Udaipur, and a lovely spot for one more photograph together. Late check-out can usually be requested at the hotel.
Your chauffeur then takes you to Udaipur airport at Dabok, roughly forty minutes east of the lakes, for your onward flight to Delhi, Mumbai or your next destination. Before you leave, take a moment to thank the people who made your week special, from the hotel staff to the guides and your chauffeur. The memories of Rajasthan's palaces, desert dinners and lake sunsets will be with you for many years to come. All of us at Heritage India Private Tours wish you both a lifetime of happiness and a safe journey home, and hopes to welcome you back to Rajasthan for a first anniversary trip.
