Itinerary

Your journey begins in Delhi, the capital of India and a city that holds centuries of history within its streets. On arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, relax and allow yourself to settle in after your flight. The first evening is kept free so that you can unwind or take a gentle walk around the hotel vicinity to get a feel of India’s vibrant atmosphere.
If time permits, take a short drive to Connaught Place or India Gate, both ideal for an evening stroll under the illuminated skyline. Overnight stay in Delhi.

Start your day with breakfast at the hotel before stepping into Old Delhi’s historical heart. Visit the grand Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in Asia, followed by a rickshaw ride through the narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk, where every turn reveals stories of spices, fabrics, and traditions. Visit Raj Ghat, the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi, surrounded by peaceful gardens.
In the afternoon, head towards New Delhi, a vision of colonial architecture and urban planning. Visit Qutub Minar, Humayun’s Tomb, India Gate, and the Rashtrapati Bhavan. End your day with a relaxed evening, maybe trying some North Indian cuisine at a local restaurant. Overnight stay in Delhi.

After breakfast, drive to Jaipur, known as the Pink City and the royal capital of Rajasthan. The highway journey offers views of colorful villages, local markets, and scenic countryside. On arrival, check in to your hotel and relax. The rest of the day is free for leisure or personal exploration.
In the evening, visit the Albert Hall Museum (if time allows) or shop for jewelry, textiles, and blue pottery at Bapu Bazaar or Johari Bazaar. Jaipur’s charm lies in its lively markets and local warmth. Overnight stay in Jaipur.

The day begins with a visit to the majestic Amber Fort, situated on a hill overlooking Maota Lake. The fort’s courtyards, Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace), and royal chambers reflect the opulence of Rajput rulers. You can reach the fort entrance by jeep or on foot, depending on your comfort.
After lunch, continue to the City Palace, still partly occupied by the royal family and home to an impressive museum of costumes and arms. Walk across to the Jantar Mantar, the UNESCO-listed observatory, and stop for photos at the Hawa Mahal. In the evening, you can dine at a heritage restaurant and enjoy folk dance and traditional Rajasthani flavors. Overnight stay in Jaipur.

After breakfast, proceed towards Agra, the city of love and home to the world-famous Taj Mahal. En route, visit Fatehpur Sikri, the once-grand Mughal capital built by Emperor Akbar. Walk through its red sandstone palaces, Buland Darwaza, and Panch Mahal before continuing your drive.
Upon arrival in Agra, check into your hotel and take some rest. In the evening, head to Mehtab Bagh, located across the Yamuna River, to view the Taj Mahal from a peaceful sunset vantage point. Overnight stay in Agra.

Early morning is reserved for a sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Witness how the marble masterpiece glows under the first rays of light, a sight that stays etched forever. Return to the hotel for breakfast.
Later, visit the Agra Fort, another grand Mughal monument with stunning architecture and views of the Taj from its balconies. The rest of the day can be spent visiting local marble workshops or Agra’s famous bazaars for handicrafts and leather goods. Overnight stay in Agra.

Depart Agra after breakfast and head towards Orchha, stopping midway at Gwalior, a city known for its magnificent hilltop fort. Visit Gwalior Fort, Sas Bahu Temple, and Jai Vilas Palace to witness royal grandeur and architectural mastery.
Continue your journey to Orchha, a quiet medieval town by the Betwa River. Check in to your heritage-style hotel and enjoy the evening exploring Raja Mahal, Chaturbhuj Temple, or simply relaxing by the riverbanks. Overnight stay in Orchha.

After breakfast, drive to Khajuraho, home to India’s most artistic and spiritual temple complexes. The road trip takes you through rustic villages and open landscapes, offering glimpses of India’s rural heartland. On arrival, check in to your hotel and relax.
In the evening, attend the Sound & Light Show near the Western Temple Complex, where the story of the Chandela dynasty unfolds through narration and lighting effects. Overnight stay in Khajuraho.

After breakfast, begin your day visiting the Western Group of Temples, including Kandariya Mahadeva, Lakshmana Temple, and Devi Jagadambi Temple. Each structure is adorned with intricate carvings that depict life, faith, and art in their purest form.
In the afternoon, proceed to the Eastern Group of Temples, known for their Jain heritage and distinctive sculptures. The calm atmosphere and the level of craftsmanship here are mesmerizing. Return to your hotel for rest. Overnight stay in Khajuraho.

Today, after breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport or railway station for your journey to Varanasi, one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and take time to relax.
In the evening, witness the iconic Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat, where priests perform synchronized rituals with fire lamps and chants — an experience that fills the air with spiritual energy. Overnight stay in Varanasi.

Start your day before sunrise with a boat ride on the Ganges River. The sight of pilgrims performing rituals and the reflection of temples in the water create a serene atmosphere. Return to your hotel for breakfast and a short rest.
Later, drive to Sarnath, where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon after enlightenment. Visit Dhamek Stupa and the Sarnath Museum. In the afternoon, explore Durga Temple, Bharat Mata Temple, and Banaras Hindu University. Spend the evening buying Banarasi silk sarees or enjoying local street food. Overnight stay in Varanasi.

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Delhi. Depending on your departure schedule, you may have time for last-minute shopping or relaxation.
As your journey concludes, carry with you the colors, spirituality, and heritage of India — from the royal corridors of Jaipur and Agra to the divine ambience of Khajuraho and Varanasi.

A tour of South India
We are recently back from a fine 10 day tour of South India – Goa, Kochi, the Kerala backwaters, a spice farm in the Western Ghats, the Madurai temples, and last but not least the Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai. All done with class, excellent drivers (especially Mr. Jai Ram in Kerala) and tour guides. Organized by Magan Singh, Heritage India Private Tours. Perhaps a bit pricey but highly recommended for those who have the resources to invest in a guaranteed high quality experience with no inconveniences/surprises. The hotels were fantastic, especially the Taj in Mumbai (the tour of the hotel was fascinating).  ...Read More

Sit back & enjoy- everything is well organised
We are back from another amazing tour organised by the ever reliable Magan Singh. This was our 4th trip with Magan and again he didn't disappoint. This time we had an incredible time travelling north & spending time around Leh. We also enjoyed some travel through Bahu, Dalhousie, Alsisar, Khandela and Patan. Again the hotel stays were excellent, the vehicle was reliable, comfortable and well maintained. Our conversations & learning were excellent. Nothing is too much trouble for Magan and he is a great host & promoter of Indian tourism  ...Read More

Wonderful experience, thank you Heritage India Private Tours!
We have just completed a 19 day trip - Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Pushkar, Udaipur, Narlai, Jodhpur, Mandawa - and it has been a wonderful experience. Magan was excellent helping us plan the right itinerary for a family of 3, including our 12 year old daughter. His communication was always timely. And then the experience itself has been wonderful. So much of the “real India” to learn about and was shared with us. Each destination was well organised, our hotels were beautiful and staff welcoming. Magan was flexible where we needed to alter along the way - we would discuss each days plans and he helped us find the right plans for that day. He was always available if we needed him. We will definitely be returning for another itinerary and experience as soon as we can. Thank you so much Magan!  ...Read More

Magic Magan
This was my first tour with Maganbhai but my family’s second tour with his company. We spent two weeks touring Himachal Pradesh and Maganbhai is a consummate professional. As we started our planning, kicked into action with very detailed and family specific questions so that he could tailor the tour to our individual and collective requirements. Maganbhai made some excellent and knowledgeable recommendations and at every location we were given a choice of quality heritage hotels to pick from. As we were travelling as a group, we were given a top range minibus and our driver, Sahil, was very professional and took great care, especially on mountain roads. During our carefully planned tour Maganbhai shared with us his incredible knowledge of each location and historical significance. At each destination, our hotel / guest in check in was very smooth and quick and our rooms were always ready. Throughout each day, Maganbhai was always available for any requirement we had and also to answer all questions. His priority throughout was to ensure that everyone had a fantastic time. Even after we finished our tour but remained in country Maganbhai generously offered to be available for all family members for any issues we might have. PHT is a top end tour company led by a highly professional tour operator, offering value for money. I wholeheartedly recommend using PHT for Maganbhai to fully cater for your next trip to India.  ...Read More

Fantastic 35 day trip in Rajastan and South India. Magan organised everything- great itinerary, amazing accomodation, excellent guides. Cars were brand new, very comfortable and expertly driven by Magan and Fateh. We felt more like valued friends than clients - Magan is passionate to showcase the “Real India”, and entertained us with jokes and stories along the way. Highlights included Tiger and leopard sightings in Kabini, romantic houseboat for two, dinner at Magans friends home, numerous stops for coconut, papaya, pineapple, guava, masala chai, lemon chai, masala dosa………We already plan to return (with friends) next year. Fantastic short trip in North India with group of friends
We had an amazing trip with Heritage India Private Tours, headed by Maghan! We were a group of 8 friends from Belgium going to Rishikesh for the wedding of a mutual friend. We only had 7 days to travel North India before the wedding festivities and Heritage Tours made sure that we could complete our busy itinerary carefree. Our driver Satnayaran was an excellent driver and a funny and helpful guide on our trip. He helped us with restaurant recommendations (the food court in Jaipur!!!), tips to travel safely and to buy local gifts, certainly in his hometown of Jaipur. We visited Jodpur, Pushkar (thank you to our local guide Manoj), Jaipur (with Rajesh Parasar as an excellent guide for the fort and old city center), and the Taj Mahal in Agra with Mohammed Tariq who took the besttttt instagram pictures. Finally, Maghan was available at every hour of the day to answer questions and to give us tips to navigate India.  ...Read More
